Tapping the "HUD" icon mirrors all the text, so if you position the iPhone horizontally under your cars windscreen you can see perfectly readable half-transparent reflection of the picture displayed. We love this mode! We found it much more convenient compared to traditional car dashboards (especially on the roads of Western Europe, which are full of speed cameras and where you need to watch your speedometer all the time). And last but not the least - it just looks cool.  Note: this mode works pretty well at night time and twilight, but on direct sunlight the screen brightness can be insufficient.

- "aSmart HUD" can keep track on 4 speed limits, giving a warning (sound and visual) each time you crossing it. Normally, its legal speed limits within cities, local roads and high-speed motorways. "Never exceed speed" is the speed you should not exceed under any conditions. For example, it can be a technical limit of your vehicle or the point where government can arrest your driving license.

- You can skip/rewind/play/pause your current iPod music track, select the playlist or set the Shuffle or Repeat iPod mode.

- Weather forecast time intervals and temperature units (C, F) are selectable in Preferences.

- You can quickly take a photo of whats going on the road. Photo will be automatically saved into the Photos Album. The speedometer image, map and a some of other useful information will be placed over your photo.

- Landscape and Portrait screen layouts support.

- Three different compass styles, sound themes, colors, etc.

- 4 functionally different display themes.

- Speed history log chart.

- "Location Info" - longitude and latitude, GPS measurement precision and some more data.

- "Records" screen (left upper button on the "Location Info" screen), where you can see your maximum reached speed (during the current trip or all of your trips), maximum altitude and maximum distance from start.

- Tap the speed indicator to switch into speed fullscreen mode.

Limitations
- The precision is affected by the satellite signal quality. If unsure, use the program only for reference, dont rely on it for 100%. Application requires real A-GPS chip - so, no iPod and not-3G iPad supported. On iPad 3G application function only in "double pixel" mode.

This is what I was looking for! This is a really fun app, great for the long drive. I bought iHud which is fine, but this one has more features for a better price. Keep the updates coming, I will be sure to mention this one to my friends. Great start! * * * Version 1.6 Great update! This is another reason to get this app - it keeps getting better!

This is a fun app. I stick my phone on top of my speedo during the day. I like the compass too. The speed alarm saves me too. Heads up works great at night and speedo is quite acurate. Music player works well. Well supported app.

I have been using this app for about 5 years and its great. Simple display gives useful information while travelling. Plus it looks cool.

This is a real nice app, well designed !! Would it be possible to allow it to rotate 180 degrees so my power cord could be on the right.

Great HUD feature, nice colors and east to read layout. Fullscreen speedometer is nice, too. Only things to implement in update would be more colors and color schemes, the 12-hour time intervals instead of 24, AND to change the brightness on the display!!!! It is easy to read it while its in the HUD more, but being able to brighten it up a bit would be nice. GREAT APP!!!

Works great. An incoming telephone call did knock it off. Not a big deal except it did reset the distance meter. Things i would like it to do: - save a trip report somehow (email??) - pickup speed limits from maps and sound an alarm at the limit. increase volume or frequency as speed increases over limit. i do like the morse code. i do not read morse code, but i am trying to learn. keep up the good work, i use it a lot esp. in the night when i am in an area i do not know. allows me to watch the road and surrounding, keep my bearings while maintaining legal speeds. i like the layout. it is easy to read. one of the best apps i have.

Some bad moments

Version 1.3 of your software has the heading indicator turning the wrong way. When Im driving north (in daytime, using the non-hud display) and turn east, the entire heading ring and arrow swing to the right, or cw. When Im going east, the numeric display reads 90 degrees, but the heading ring reads 270 degrees. The snapshots on the apple store are correct, but the working software is completely backwards. Oops.

I like the idea of this app. Unfortunately on my car the reflection comes off both the front and back surfaces of the windshield, and consequently I get a double image which is mostly unreadable. I would recommend you open something else on your iPhone and put it on your car dashboard at night to see if you also get a double image before you purchase this.

Would be a great app if it didnt shut down after running for about a minute. Works fine, then shuts down and goes back to my home screen (with full signal and 3G).

There isnt much to say about this app because it doesnt work for me in Massachusetts.

Application worked okay the first couple of times that I used it - seemed to be accurate. Now the app starts and then crashes within seconds. Have not been able to get technical support - so I decided to delete it, and I do not recommend buying it.

Great App., but it wont stay open more than 3 seconds! Ive been using it in my company vehicle for the past 7 months and it worked great until the latest update!
